Narrative
In the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a Massachusetts State Police cruiser struck a deer on the southbound side of Route 24 near Routes 106 and 104 in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts. The West Bridgewater Fire Department responded to the scene, and while the fire truck was on scene, a civilian vehicle struck the rear of the responding fire truck.
The driver of the civilian vehicle sustained injuries and was transported to Boston Medical Center South. The fire truck sustained visible rear-end damage and a second vehicle was towed from the scene. One lane of travel on Route 24 southbound was shut down for several hours following the crash.
