Narrative
On Monday, June 16, 2026, just after 10:00 a.m., Taunton police responded to a multivehicle crash at 595 Winthrop Street in Taunton, Massachusetts. Officers arrived to find a white BMW with driver’s side damage perched on a parking bumper, along with a Kia SUV and additional vehicles involved in the collision.
The driver of the BMW, Ivonne Caicedo Gallego, 44, of Taunton, was found outside the vehicle with traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver of the Kia SUV and his female passenger were transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. A semitruck with a detached trailer and two other motor vehicles sustained minor damage as a result of the crash.
