Narrative
On the night of July 3, 2026, at approximately 10:35 p.m., a boat crashed into the jetty at Salisbury Beach State Reservation in Salisbury, Massachusetts. The jetty is a long, rocky wall extending into the mouth of the Merrimack River.
Two occupants were rescued from the water and transported to local hospitals; their conditions were not immediately available. One additional person remained unaccounted for following the crash, prompting an overnight water search by Massachusetts State Police troopers, the State Police marine unit and airwing, and the U.S. Coast Guard.
