Narrative
On the evening of July 3, 2026, at approximately 10:35 p.m., Salisbury officers reported a boat crash on the jetty at Salisbury Beach State Reservation, located at the mouth of the Merrimack River in Salisbury, Massachusetts. The vessel struck the rocky jetty wall, which extends into the Merrimack River along the North Jetty area.
Two individuals aboard were rescued from the water and transported to local hospitals; their conditions were not immediately available. A third person remained unaccounted for following the crash, prompting an overnight and early morning water search involving Massachusetts State Police troopers, the State Police marine unit and airwing, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Newburyport Harbormaster’s office.
