Narrative

On the night of June 5, 2026, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Raynham police and EMS responded to a crash at the intersection of South Street East and Hill Street in Raynham, Massachusetts, where a white Ford Explorer SUV operated by Jacob Larsen, 22, of Avon, collided with a black Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Scott Piche, 52, of New Bedford.

Officers arrived to find the motorcycle on its side with heavy front-end damage in the northbound travel lane, and Piche lying in the roadway with significant injuries. A medical helicopter was requested; however, Piche was ultimately transported by Raynham Rescue accompanied by flight medics to Morton Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Larsen’s license had been suspended at the time of the crash due to a prior OUI charge, and he has since been arrested and charged with motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, operating a motor vehicle while license suspended for OUI, marked lanes violation, and failure to yield.

The Massachusetts State Police collision analysis and reconstruction section responded to assist Raynham detectives, and the investigation is ongoing by the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with the Raynham Police Department. Larsen is scheduled to be arraigned in Taunton District Court. Full details are developing.
