Narrative
On Thursday, June 5, 2026, shortly after 12:30 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to Gulf Road near 585 Gulf Road in Northfield, Massachusetts, after a Ford F-350 pickup truck with New Hampshire registration left the roadway and struck a tree. Upon arrival, responders from the Northfield Fire Department, Police Department, and Northfield EMS discovered the truck’s cab fully engulfed in flames with the driver still inside.
Firefighters rapidly extinguished the blaze and subsequently assisted the medical examiner’s office. The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Gulf Road was closed for several hours and reopened at approximately 5:30 p.m.
