Narrative

On Monday, April 27, 2026, at approximately 4:40 p.m., a collision occurred in the area of 249 Stockbridge Road in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. A 2011 Honda operated by a 23-year-old man from Philadelphia was traveling northbound on Stockbridge Road when the driver attempted to turn into 249 Stockbridge Road, entering the path of a southbound e-bike being ridden in the breakdown lane by a 72-year-old man from Alford.

The e-bike operator sustained serious injuries and was transported by Southern Berkshire Ambulance to Fairview Hospital before being airlifted to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. His current condition was unknown as of press time.

The crash is under investigation by Great Barrington Police Officer Andreas Huertas, with assistance from Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services, and the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office.
