Narrative
On the night of Wednesday, May 14, 2026, at approximately 11:20 p.m., a recreational boat struck Logan Airport Pier 4R in Boston Harbor, near Logan International Airport. The vessel — reportedly taken without authorization from a Freedom Boat Club location in Boston’s Seaport, well after the club had closed — was carrying four passengers: Elizabeth Dankert, 24, of Andover; two 23-year-old female companions; and a 40-year-old male identified as the boat’s owner.
All four occupants were thrown onto the rocks along the shoreline upon impact and were carefully extricated by Boston EMS before being rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital. Elizabeth Dankert was pronounced dead early Thursday morning. The three remaining victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
State troopers assigned to the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office are leading the investigation, and Brunswick Corporation, which owns the Freedom Boat Club location, has stated it is cooperating fully with authorities. Full details are developing.
