Narrative
On Monday morning, June 15, 2026, at approximately 10:10 a.m., Taunton Police and EMS were dispatched to 595 Winthrop Street (Route 44) in Taunton, Massachusetts following multiple 911 calls reporting a multi-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers discovered a white BMW with catastrophic driver’s-side damage perched on a parking bumper in front of Prime Storage, with the driver, Ivonne Caicedo Gallego, 44, of Taunton, found outside the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene from traumatic injuries.
The crash involved a total of five vehicles, including the white BMW, a black Kia SUV whose male driver and female passenger were transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, a black semi-truck with a detached trailer, and two additional vehicles whose drivers were uninjured and sustained only minor damage.
