On Saturday, June 6, 2026, just before noon, Hudson Police responded to the area of 79 Main Street — directly across from Town Hall — following multiple reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. The victim, James Calf, 85, of Hudson, was found on scene suffering from injuries consistent with a crash and was transported to an area hospital.

On Monday, June 8, 2026, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner notified Hudson Police that Calf had been pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene; their identity has not been publicly released.
