Narrative
On Thursday, June 5, 2026, shortly after 12:30 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to Gulf Road near 585 Gulf Road in Northfield, Massachusetts, after a Ford F-350 pickup truck with New Hampshire registration left the roadway and struck a tree. Northfield Fire, Police, and EMS responded to the scene, where they found the truck’s cab fully involved in flames with the driver still inside.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and later assisted the medical examiner’s office. The driver, the vehicle’s sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. Gulf Road was closed for several hours before reopening around 5:30 p.m.
