Narrative
On Friday, May 29, 2026, a serious multi-vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 95 in Stafford County, Virginia, involving a bus and six other vehicles. Survivor Rhonda Wright, who was asleep aboard the bus at the time, told The Washington Post she was jolted awake by the impact, stating, “The bus was going really, really fast,” before the bus struck the first vehicle followed by a rapid series of additional collisions.
The crash resulted in five fatalities and dozens of injuries. Authorities declared the scene a “Mass Casualty Incident,” and the bus was observed skidded onto the side of I-95 following the collision sequence.
