Narrative
On Thursday afternoon, May 21, 2026, a BMW collided with a school bus at the intersection of Broadway and Langdon Street in Everett, Massachusetts. The school bus, operated by a driver reported to be following all applicable traffic laws, was in the process of making a legal left-hand turn from Broadway onto Langdon Street when a BMW traveling in the inside lane of the two-lane roadway came up on the right side and struck the rear of the bus, forcing it into a city-owned light pole.
There were 11 students, a bus driver, and a monitor on board the bus at the time of the crash. Nine students — all attendees of the Devens School in Everett, a therapeutic day school serving students eligible for special education — were transported to the hospital; two were released to their parents at the scene. All injuries are reported as non-life-threatening. The BMW sustained significant front-end damage.
