Narrative
On Sunday, May 17, 2026, just before 4:00 p.m., a multi-vehicle crash involving two motorcycles and a passenger car occurred on Interstate 495 South near mile marker 62 in Marlborough, Massachusetts, according to Massachusetts State Police. One motorcycle collided with the car while the second motorcycle left the roadway and went into the woods; one of the motorcycles caught fire following the crash.
Both motorcycle riders sustained serious injuries but are expected to survive. The two riders were transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester — one via medical rescue helicopter, which necessitated the closure of I-495 southbound lanes for approximately 20 minutes.
