Narrative
On the morning of May 1, 2026, two separate crashes caused significant traffic delays on I-95 northbound in Westwood and Canton, Massachusetts. Just before 3:30 a.m., two box trucks were involved in a crash at Exit 28 in Westwood, closing the two right lanes and resulting in a fuel spill; then, just after 6:40 a.m., a second crash at Exit 25 in Canton closed three lanes of the highway, with at least one vehicle sustaining catastrophic damage.
Injuries were not immediately known at either location, and extensive cleanup operations were underway at both scenes as authorities responded. MassDOT confirmed both incidents and noted lengthy delays as traffic moved very slowly past the affected areas.
The cause and full circumstances of both crashes remain under investigation. Full details are developing.
