Narrative
On Thursday afternoon, April 23, 2026, a fatal two-vehicle crash occurred on Route 20 near Shrewsbury Lumber in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, involving a Hyundai Elantra operated by Gina M. Lorusso, 48, of Charlton, and a Mercedes SUV.
Lorusso was rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead; the driver of the Mercedes SUV sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the scene or a medical facility. A Rottweiler named Austin, who was in Lorusso’s vehicle at the time of the crash, fled the scene and remained missing as of Saturday morning, April 25, 2026, prompting a widespread community and law enforcement search including drone surveillance of nearby wooded areas.
