On Saturday, July 11, 2026, at approximately 11:40 a.m., troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Bourne Barracks responded to a two-motorcycle crash on Route 6 east in Sandwich, MA.

One motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries; the second motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and was taken to the barracks for questioning. The highway was briefly closed before reopening.
